Suvi means summer in Estonian, and suvi is the vibe on this fire 7 released by the always on-point Frotee label. Heidy Tamme is a well-known and beloved Estonian pop singer who s best known in her home country for her Estonian pop songs. However, she was more personally drawn to soul and blues influences, and this release epitomizes that cool-soul sound. The track Suvi ei jää is a loose rendition of Roberta Flack s What a Woman Really Means . The track is poppy-yet-souful, perfect for use as a two-step boogie joint on the dancefloor. The flip is an instrumental version of the same track, arranged by Estonian guitarist Tiit Paulus. Recommended.
